Constitution
Please note: The club are currently debating and formulating a new constitution for moving forward. The current constitution is available for download HERE, however we urge you to also take the time to read the announcement below regarding the current constitution from Public Officer Peter Bailey

A question has been raised regarding the interpretation of Rule 9.2 of our constitution which reads -

"9.2 No Committee Member shall hold office for a period exceeding two consecutive years unless otherwise approved by a two thirds majority of Full Members present at an Annual General Meeting and even than at no time more than two positions on the Committee. Any such approval shall be for one year only and will require further qualification each year."

Having been involved in forming our constition and subsequent alterations, the intention of this rule is not to have a member in the same elected position on committee for more than 2 years unless there is a two thirds majority approval at an AGM, to be able to continue in that position and then ratified yearly.

Considering that it is always very difficult to fill all positions, it was never the intention for this rule to stop a member from being elected to hold a different position on the committee after 2 years, therefore not requiring two thirds majority.

Now that this question has been raised, I conclude that the current constition review sub committee will be instructed to alter the wording of this rule so it can not be misunderstood by anyone.
